Flashback: 2013
Ty Tessmann's tenure with Team Orion

Yesterday marked the end of an era for Ty Tessmann and long-time electronics sponsor Team Orion (you can read Tessmann’s statement confirming the split here). The Canadian off-road superstar scored more than a dozen major wins at electric off-road races after signing with the company in 2013, including back-to-back 4WD national titles in 2013 and 2014, two E-Buggy wins at the NEO Race, and four more ROAR titles this summer in 1/10-scale 2WD, 4WD and Stadium Truck as well as 1/8-Scale Truck.

The Internet rumors have suggested Tessmann may be headed to Muchmore, where he would join Ryan Cavalieri in an effort to bring the company up to the level of success in off-road that it has enjoyed on asphalt. As for Team Orion, which would still have 2017 double world champion Ryan Maifield in addition to a long list of other championship racers, I’m sure they’ll still be competing for wins around the world.
